Does anyone have any idea if it is a good idea to have refexology and a massage in the same day?
Especially if you have never had reflexology before. I've got a potential client who wants to have a day of pampering and is thinking a scheduling a session and then a massage and I am wondering if she might end up with a major healing crisis.

* I work with a MT and every once in a while we will get someone who will want both.
They will go in with her for an hour and then to me for an hour. I usually check with people over the next few days to find out if they had any kind of healing crisis or not. Most of the time
they only experience increased bathroom visits. We have never had a problem with working on the same person, but you never know when you will get someone who has lots of toxins and will have a bad experience with the healing crisis.

*I am both a Massage Therapist and a Reflexologist. Often I will have a client that wants both. I will
usually do the Massage and then finish by doing the Reflexology session.
Allow for time between the session for personal needs, i.e. drink of water, bathroom.
Many of my
Fibromyalgia clients find that the benefits of both last long between sessions.

* I often use Reflexology at the end of my sessions as people are curious to what Reflexology is and I think it is a nice way to end a session, and introduce a new modality to clients.
I find that it is better to do the massage first because people are normally tense and nervous anyway and
by massaging the client first you get to know thier bodies a little better, they may remember an old injury or you may notice more muscle tension than they thought existed, and finding this out first then using the reflexes for those areas heightens the results. it is a nice way of doing it, this is my personal preference. Also I find that during the massage sometimes people are awaiting the reflexology and
tend to ask many questions about this, but I try to answer these questions first before working on them.
